The 2026 GMC Sierra 1500 is a full-size light-duty pickup truck available in Regular Cab, Double Cab, and Crew Cab body styles with short, standard, or long bed lengths. It competes directly with the Ford F-150, Ram 1500, and Chevrolet Silverado 1500. Maximum towing capacity reaches 13,300 pounds when properly equipped with the available 3.0L Duramax turbo-diesel engine. The 2026 model continues with the current generation design, featuring minor updates such as new exterior color options and optional exhaust tuning on select V8-equipped models. The standard powertrain includes a 2.7L TurboMax turbocharged inline-four engine producing 310 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque, mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission with rear-wheel drive; four-wheel drive and alternative V8 or diesel engines are available.

The GMC Infotainment System features a 13.4-inch diagonal touchscreen on SLE and higher trims or a seven-inch screen on the base Pro trim, with Google built-in for Maps, voice assistant, and Play Store access, plus wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Super Cruise hands-free driving assistance is available on higher trims for compatible highways, complemented by standard driver aids including automatic emergency braking and lane-keeping assist. The myGMC app enables remote start, lock/unlock, vehicle location, and maintenance notifications, supported by over-the-air software updates. Optional OnStar services provide in-vehicle Wi-Fi hotspot, navigation, and 24/7 advisor assistance.
