The 2026 GMC Terrain is a compact crossover SUV with two rows of seating for five passengers. It occupies the same segment as the Chevrolet Equinox, its platform-sharing counterpart, along with the Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV4. For 2026, the Terrain carries forward the architecture from the redesigned 2025 model year, with an expanded lineup that now includes the Elevation base trim as well as the AT4 off-road oriented trim and the Denali premium trim. Propulsion comes from a turbocharged 1.5-liter inline-four engine rated at 175 horsepower. Front-wheel drive variants pair this engine with a continuously variable transmission and 184 lb-ft of torque, whereas all-wheel drive configurations employ an eight-speed automatic transmission and deliver 203 lb-ft of torque.
Standard across all trims is the 15-inch diagonal Premium GMC Infotainment System with Google built-in, which provides access to Google Maps for navigation, Google Assistant for voice-activated functions including calls and media, and compatibility with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Complementing this is an 11-inch customizable Driver Information Center. The vehicle includes more than 15 standard driver assistance features such as automatic emergency braking and lane-keep assist, with options like adaptive cruise control. Connectivity extends through the myGMC mobile app for remote monitoring, locking, unlocking, and diagnostics, in addition to available OnStar services and over-the-air software updates.
