The 2026 Mazda CX-50 is a compact crossover SUV with two rows of seating for five passengers and ground clearance higher than many sedans. It competes in the same segment as the Toyota RAV4, Honda CR-V, and Subaru Forester. Introduced in 2023, the 2026 model includes updates such as a hybrid powertrain option, new Meridian Edition and Turbo Meridian Edition trims, and adjustments to features and packaging. Non-hybrid versions feature standard i-Activ AWD paired with a 2.5-liter SKYACTIV-G inline-four engine rated at 187 horsepower and 185 lb-ft of torque, connected to a six-speed automatic transmission. Hybrid variants use a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine combined with electric motors for 219 total system horsepower, an e-CVT transmission, and electronic AWD.

All trims come equipped with the Mazda Connect infotainment system displayed on a 10.25-inch touchscreen, supporting wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Alexa Built-in for voice commands related to music, navigation, and climate control, Bluetooth connectivity, and USB ports in the front and rear. The 2026 hybrids achieve an EPA-estimated 38 mpg combined, while higher trims offer options including a Bose 12-speaker audio system and a 360-degree view monitor. The MyMazda app enables remote functions such as engine start, door lock and unlock, vehicle location, and status monitoring. A one-year trial of Mazda Connected Services provides roadside assistance, with over-the-air updates available for the infotainment system.
