The 2026 Subaru BRZ is a compact two-door sports coupe with rear-wheel drive. It shares its platform with the Toyota GR86 and is compared to vehicles like the Mazda MX-5 Miata and Nissan Z. The 2026 model continues the prior design with limited mechanical changes. Subaru removed the Premium trim from the lineup, with the Limited now serving as the base model, and introduced the Series.Yellow edition featuring Sunrise Yellow paint along with matte black wheels and interior accents. The powertrain includes a naturally aspirated 2.4-liter Subaru BOXER four-cylinder engine producing 228 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque, mated to a six-speed manual transmission as standard, or an optional six-speed automatic with paddle shifters on compatible trims.

The BRZ comes with an 8-inch touchscreen running Subaru's Multimedia system, which supports Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth for calls and audio streaming, SiriusXM radio, and a rearview camera on all models. Higher trims like the tS include an upgraded 8-speaker audio setup. A key update for 2026 is EyeSight Driver Assist Technology now standard across the lineup, offering adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, pre-collision braking, blind-spot detection, and rear cross-traffic alert. The cabin features a customizable digital instrument cluster displaying tachometer readings, G-force meter, and performance modes. MySubaru Connected Services provide remote access for lock/unlock, vehicle location, maintenance reminders, and other functions via app.
