The 2026 Subaru Impreza is a compact five-door hatchback equipped with standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive. It competes in the segment with models such as the Honda Civic Hatchback, Toyota Corolla Hatchback, and Mazda3 Hatchback. This model continues on the sixth-generation platform that debuted in 2024. For 2026, the lineup simplifies by eliminating the base trim in favor of the Sport and RS versions. The Sport trim features a 2.0-liter Subaru Boxer four-cylinder engine producing 152 horsepower and 145 lb-ft of torque, paired with a continuously variable transmission. The RS trim receives a 2.5-liter Boxer four-cylinder engine with 180 horsepower and refined tuning, also using a CVT.

The Impreza incorporates Subaru's STARLINK Multimedia infotainment system, featuring an 11.6-inch touchscreen standard on all trims for 2026, along with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. Physical knobs provide direct access to volume and tuning functions. The latest EyeSight Driver Assist Technology comes standard across the lineup, including adaptive cruise control with lane centering, automatic emergency braking, and lane departure prevention. STARLINK connected services, available through subscription, enable remote lock/unlock, vehicle location tracking, and safety alerts. Over-the-air software updates maintain current infotainment and select driver assistance features without requiring a dealer visit.
