The 2026 Toyota Mirai is a midsize four-door sedan and one of the few hydrogen fuel-cell electric vehicles available in the US market. It competes with the Hyundai Nexo as the primary hydrogen alternative, and with battery electric sedans such as the Tesla Model 3 and Lucid Air. The 2026 model carries over from 2025 with the addition of standard 19-inch black machine-finish wheels. Its rear-wheel-drive hydrogen fuel-cell system combines onboard hydrogen tanks with atmospheric oxygen to generate electricity for a 182-horsepower permanent magnet electric motor and delivers an EPA-estimated 402-mile range on a full tank.

The infotainment setup features Toyota Audio Multimedia on a 12.3-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, and voice commands via "Hey Toyota" for navigation, calls, and media, along with a 14-speaker JBL audio system. Drive Connect services include cloud navigation, Intelligent Assistant, and Destination Assist, plus a built-in Wi-Fi hotspot. The electronics carry over from the previous year with no major updates. The Toyota app supports remote engine start, door lock/unlock, vehicle status checks, maintenance alerts, and Digital Key after the trial period. Connected features offer one- to five-year trials before requiring subscriptions, and over-the-air updates maintain the multimedia system.
